College IT Conference

The RAF Museum – 2018

The Cambridge and Oxford College IT Management Groups (CITMG) are pleased to announce the 11th College IT Conference (CITC) exclusively for the College Computing communities of Cambridge and Oxford University. The conference will follow the highly successful formula of the previous nine conferences, offering stand-out keynote presentations and a rich mix of technical seminars with round table discussions covering non-technical areas such as policy, strategy, communication and management.

This year’s keynotes will feature James Marshall, Microsoft UK Technology Strategist.  James will address a range of topics looking at technology past, present and future including what Microsoft see happening in Education as well as the kinds of things that are inspiring individuals and organisations across all industries to innovate. James will discuss a future broad technology vision – touching on technologies such as IoT & Quantum Computing as well as bringing an interactive element to his talk.
There will be a focus on cloud technologies, specifically in the context of Education and an insight into how some of these technologies could help you in developing the service that you provide to your customers every day.
Finally, James will be providing some insight into ideas for simple take away ideas that we can all action to spark our imagination of the ‘art of the possible’.

We will also be arranging range of seminar topics on network management, infrastructure security, and round tables on College organisation and similar management challenges.  The day will conclude with a great evening meal where delegates can relax among colleagues, make new contacts and catch up on the days discussions and events.

The conference is a chance for College IT staff of the 70 Oxford and Cambridge colleges to mix with their colleagues, to discover their interests, the ways they work, their problems and solutions to managing IT in this unique environment.

As with past conferences the day’s events will be rounded off with a formal dinner kindly sponsored by SonicWall and an after dinner speaker.
