College IT Conference

Imperial War Museum Duxford – 2009

The 3rd annual CIT Conference was held at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford on Friday 27th November 2009.

This conference successfully followed in the footsteps of its predecessors with an excellent keynote talk given by Ray Fleming (UK Education Marketing Manager) and Dominic Watts (Higher Education Business Manager UK) entitled ‘How Technology will affect the University of the future’. The usual seminars and round tables continued to work well as did the sponsors’ hall which saw plenty of activity during the numerous breaks and especially over lunch. The flight simulator went down well, with most delegates giving it a go.

The day was finished off with dinner which proved to be a great success – held in a unique setting under the wings of Concorde, given atmosphere by the cathedral like size of the hanger, and the clever lighting, which picked out and silhouette parts of aviation history hung from its ceiling.

As always the event could not have gone ahead without our sponsors support. This year we were pleased to have the following help deliver the event: Microsoft, Khipu, 3Com, Salto, Datasharp, SEC, PARS, ANS and Newdatum.
